“Light Cocoon” is the name of a new bionic concept designed by the engineering service Edag for the construction of a new space frame for vehicle manufacturing. The bionic pattern of a leaf as a design basis and a lightweight and intelligently networked body structure shows pioneering possibilities for future emissions targets using lightweight construction. And where does Ackermann GmbH fit in? Without the appropriate presentation framework, even the most promising of ideas can be easily overlooked. Not so with the current trade fair presentation by Edag! Using mineral materials, CNC and laser processing and our 3D forming techniques, we were able to create a visual framework worthy of the “Light Cocoon” presentation.
